Alumnae

WELCOME, ALUMNA!

Dear Mercy Alumna,

It is with great pride and excitement that I continue my Mercy experience as the newest director of alumnae engagement. I have enjoyed working with and learning from Sister Mary Anne Smith as we prepared for this transition and I am honored to continue the work that Sister Joannes Clifford, Mercy’s first alumnae director, and Sister Mary Anne began in the Alumnae Office.

The Mercy sisterhood is unlike any other and I am proud to be part of it. I am continually impressed by the great work our more than 8,000 alumnae do in their chosen professions, in their families, in their churches, and in the community! We truly are Women of Mercy, living out the legacy of Catherine McAuley.

Please remember, that whether you graduated 58 years ago as part of our first Class of 1964, or are graduating with the Class of 2022, Mercy will always be your home and part of who you are! It is never too late to reconnect with your Mercy sisters and find new ways to be involved at Mercy! YOU are the reason the Alumnae Office exists and it is my goal to continue to foster the bonds of sisterhood that we began as Mercy students. As the director of alumnae engagement, I hope to support you in connecting with other Women of Mercy as well as our Alma Mater. I look forward to continuing to connect with many of you and to meet others at our many alumnae events!

The alumnae portion of Mercy’s website is just one of many ways that we inform you of details regarding reunions, social events, volunteer opportunities, news of your Mercy sisters, and alumnae giving. I hope that you find these pages informative and that they encourage you to participate in the many volunteer and social opportunities available! Another great alumnae resource is our closed Mercy High School, Baltimore Alumnae Facebook group. To join, please click the link and answer the brief questions provided.

Please stay in touch, come by campus for a visit, and always remember, “Red for strength and courage, pure devotion shining white.” I look forward to working with each of you!

Fondly,

Karen Lippy Maimone ’92, P’19
